Asus to Release ION Based EeeBox in June

pegatron-2

Asus is expected to release a new ION based nettop as a part of its EeeBox line of computers. Previosly, Asus has tried its hand at a home theater nettop capable of HD playback with its EeeBox B206. The B206 packed an Inel Atom processor along with an ATI HD 3450 graphics chip, 1 GB of RAM and a 160 GB hard drive and can be purchased now for roughly $350.

The new ION based EeeBox B1006 to be released in June is expected to have similar specs although no official details have been given. One thing we can be sure of is that the B1006 will definitely carry an Intel Atom processor. As for the design of the new nettop we may have already seen it from Pegatron. Pegatron, a subsidiary of Asus, has already shown off a couple of its nettops and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Asus EeeBox B1006 looked strikingly similar. The EeeBox B1006 is expected to be released in June with no retail price detailed yet.
