In a recent Gizmodo article, Lenovo pushes the launching date for its ION-based netbook to End-October, in order to combine it with the Microsoft’s Windows 7 launch.

The netbook, announced at Computex event in the beginning of June, was supposed to be the first ION-based netbook to be launched on the market, but the launch of Samsung’s N510 changed this.  Moreover, HP and Dell also announced ION-based devices to be launched these months. It remains to be seen whether all these movements will have an impact on the sale prices.

The ION-based S12 will cost $50 more than its standard version, bringing the final price at around $550, which is less than the $599 retail price announced for Samsung’s N510.
